is 'serosorting' a reliable prevention method for HIV?
‘Serosorting’ is not a reliable prevention method. Reason being, just because two HIV negative people have sex with one another or unprotected sex doesn't mean their safe from not catching HIV. One party might have had unprotected sex with an HIV positive person and didn’t know. There are a lot of HIV positive people who don’t disclose their status with their partners and are dishonest about their status just so they can still have sex with that person. Also, it takes three to six months to develop antibodies for HIV if exposed. The reality is, even if they might have dodged the HIV bullet there are other STIs and STDs that they still can contract.
