What mask did HIV cause you to remove or wear?
The mask that HIV caused me to remove was the mask of invincibility. Before being diagnosed with HIV I thought that nothing like this could ever happen to me. I always thought that this could happen to other people. I believed that everyone else was vulnerable but me. When I was first diagnosed I had to immediately remove that invincible mask and come to terms with the fact that I was not immortal and I was susceptible to becoming infected. Today I choose not to wear any mask and deal with life. Life is much easier for me because of the decision I made to accept reality, get informed and move on with my life.
