is 'serosorting' a reliable prevention method for HIV?

If there was a way to prove 100 percent that the potential partner is definitely negative then this would be a good idea, except for the fact that there are other STDs that can be contracted by unprotected sex. However, I don't know how I would feel if someone I liked would not give me the time of day just because I was positive.
